chun jie kuai le! Chinese New Year assembly

On Thursday our school celebrated the start of the Chinese New Year holiday with a fun-filled assembly and firecrackers to scare away the bad spirits, as we enter into the year of the snake.

My cheerleading team performed their pep song dance, half-time performance and we premiered a stunting performance, complete with spirit flags, cheer signs and Chinese caligraphy scrolls.

After the traditional dragon dance, the baby lion mixed things up and came out on stage to dance hip hop with my sixth grade students.

It has been a great experience, working with the Mandarin department.  We certainly put on a show to remember!  I especially want to thank Mrs. Reed for the HUGE basket of tangerines she gifted me.  Also to my cheer team for the lovely flowers and gift card.  Until next year.....chun jie kuai le!
