Happy Birthday to Me! Happy Valentine's Day to all!!

I received a singing valentine of "Skin-a-ma Rinky Dink, I love you" (HS chorus charity project) from two fifth grade students, beautiful flowers from my PE co-workers, homemade brownies and SKITTLES (my other poison!!) from another co-worker.

Lots of chocolate and cards and one special gift of a musical box that was left by a secret sender!

My students and fellow teachers spoiled me with love today! I feel so blessed, even though I am so far away from my friends and family at home. For that reason, I am also grateful to my Grandma, Aunt Kathy and best friend Christine who called to wish me a happy birthday.

I treated myself to a mani/pedi at the local salon that I've never tried (Subconscious day spa.. I liked the modern design of the place, but Bamboo Spa next door to my apartment does better pedicures!).

I also received good news today that there's a dance teaching volunteering opportunity for me during Easter break! A meaningful reason to travel to Hanoi, Vietnam!!

It's been a cold, wet day, but better than having a blizzard like I usually have for my birthday in New York!

My birthday wish is to have positive energy and life changing experiences this year. I want to dance and take a big leap in this leap year!
<3 and experience real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other love.... Always! <3

A Sex and the City quote:

When you're young, your whole life is about the pursuit of fun. Then, you grow up and learn to be cautious. You could break a bone or a heart. You look before you leap and sometimes you don't leap at all because there's not always someone there to catch you. And in life, there's no safety net. When did it stop being fun and start being scary?

Sometimes you gotta quit thinking so much. If it feels right, it probably is. So just go with it.

Maybe some women aren't meant to be tamed. Maybe they need to run free until they find someone just as wild to run with.

So just live, make mistakes and have wonderful times, but never ever second guess who you are, where you have been and most importantly where it is that you are going.
